Tamar NRM contracted us to design, deliver and evaluate the 2018 Tamar Sustainable Living Expo. More than 1,000 people attended this event on Saturday 13 October at Launceston’s historic Albert Hall, featuring Costa Georgiadis, host of ABC TV’s Gardening Australia program. The Expo showcased more than thirty local businesses providing sustainable goods and services to northern Tasmanians. We also programmed four workshop spaces, where people learnt about renewable energy, electric vehicles, healthy housing, organic food, sustainable soils, bicycles, local groups and more.
Our work with Tamar NRM to deliver this event inspired the Harvest Market to introduce an organic waste collection for its stallholders and patrons; Beaconsfield Neighbourhood House to hold their first Sustainable Living Market; and the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) to conduct its first ‘Test Drive an EV Day’ in Launceston.
